It gathers relevant data on the&nbsp;challenges of <strong>European cities<\/strong>&nbsp;created by climate change.&nbsp;The information are based on <strong>four climate threats<\/strong>: heatwaves, drought and water scarcity, flooding and forest fires.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The maps take&nbsp;into account<strong> financial resources<\/strong> as well as <strong>demographic<\/strong>, <strong>social<\/strong>, <strong>institutional<\/strong>, <strong>environmental&nbsp;<\/strong>and <strong>economic factors<\/strong> to identify a city&#8217;s capacities to face climate change threats. For example, it includes&nbsp;the amount of green urban areas, the share of elderly people&nbsp;or the levels of trust. These factors influence the weaknesses of the city: high shares of elderly people exposes a city to higher health risks for instance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Practical information<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The &#8216;map book&#8217; is available on the <strong>European Climate Adaptation portal<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/climate-adapt.eea.europa.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Climate-ADAPT<\/a>. Any additional information may be added by users in the section &#8216;<strong>Explore further<\/strong>&#8216;.
