The legislation committed Scotland to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by <strong>42% by 2020<\/strong> and by <strong>80% by 2050<\/strong>. These objectives could not be met without the actions of <strong>Stop Climate Chaos Scotland <\/strong>(SCCS), a coalition of around 60 organisations that succeeded in putting popular pressure on their Members of the Parliament to support the plan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The country&#8217;s natural assets and its interets in <strong>social justice<\/strong> have played an important role in citizen&#8217;s awareness about <strong>climate issues<\/strong>. But there is nothing that could not be done elsewhere in Europe or in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the months to come, the coalition will launch the new&nbsp;\u2018For the Love of\u2019 campaign and build projects to mobilise people for a more <strong>sustainable environment<\/strong>.
