THE FOURTH NEWSLETTER OF THE 4ONEANOTHER PROJECT IS AVAILABLE!

Thursday, 17 November 2022

The fourth issue of the biannual newsletter of the 4OneAnother project is available! In this fourth edition, we invite you to discover the results of the actions carried out in this project, which aims at improving the integration of Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) in Europe and Belgium. This newsletter presents the finalization of the themes of the training for professionals working with UASC that will be freely accessible in 2023, as well as the results of the fifth transnational meeting of the partners in The Hague, the Netherlands.

On Sunday, 20 November, dressing in blue was the order of the day for those who work with children in need. Blue is the official colour of UNICEF’s World Children's Day, which is celebrated every 20 November since its creation in 1954. This worldwide event aims to raise awareness about children's rights and their well-being. It also commemorates the adoption in 1990 of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

It is a day where young people's ideas and demands, especially around global warming, are highlighted. On this 20 November, children's rights activists are calling for donations and awareness activities in schools.

The theme of the World Children's Day 2022 is inclusion and equality for all children, a theme that is at the heart of the 4OneAnother project. Indeed, the difficulty of integrating UASC in Belgium and in Europe is an issue that is part of the question of children's rights. Their well-being is endangered by legal obstacles to their integration, lack of psychosocial support and difficulties in accessing education.

PLS is committed to 4OneAnother

POUR LA SOLIDARITÉ-PLS supports the importance of this day for the rights of the child and particularly those of unaccompanied minors. This commitment is reflected in the participation of PLS in the 4OneAnother project.

The partners' efforts are now focused on the structure and design of an e-learning platform. This interface will host the seven finalized training chapters. The transnational meeting in The Hague, the Netherlands, in October, has enriched them with new intellectual elements. They include practical tips, learning activities and theoretical information to improve the skills of those working with UASC.
